Trabzon city centre — everyone calls it Meydan — is the square-shaped park at the heart of downtown, ringed by tea houses, bakeries, hotels and the pedestrian shopping streets of Kunduracılar and Uzun Sokak. The covered bazaar and the Kazazlar silver workshops sit a few minutes away, the fish market and Ganita seafront a short walk downhill, and the Boztepe cable car climbs from the coast just east. Staying here means walking to dinner and taking short taxis to everything else.
