Uzungöl (Uzungol), Trabzon
Uzungöl is a lake village in the Çaykara district, about 95 km south-east of Trabzon city centre at roughly 1,100 m altitude. Fog, forested slopes, the lakeside mosque and trout restaurants make it the single most photographed place in the eastern Black Sea.
Getting there
From Trabzon city centre or Trabzon Airport (TZX), drive east along the coast to Of, then inland through Çaykara: roughly 1.5 to 2 hours. Minibuses run from Trabzon in season; private transfers are the easiest option for families.
