Trabzon Center
Trabzon splits neatly into three kinds of sightseeing. The city itself is compact: the Hagia Sophia of Trabzon, Atatürk Mansion, the old bazaar streets and the Boztepe viewpoints can be covered on foot and by short taxi hops. The mountains inland — Maçka, Sumela, Çaykara — need a half or full day and involve real elevation, cooler air and steep footpaths.
The third layer is the coast: Akçaabat's Ortamahalle, beaches east of the city and the shoreline promenades. Weather changes fast here, and cloud can sit on the highlands even when the coast is clear, so keep a flexible order: do the mountains on the clearest morning and save the city and coast for a grey day.
